Region and Southwest Missouri is a
separate, not-for-profit
organization.
Established in 1996, ADVOCATES
engages
in
education, lobbying and
bi-partisan electoral work
such as:
lobbying elected officials in
Jefferson
City and in-district, candidate recruitment
and
message training,
get-out-the-vote
activities,
and voter education.
Despite significant budget cuts, the Missouri legislature spent untold hours debating further restrictions to abortion during the 2010 legislative session. The legislature continued to ignore common sense prevention legislation.
Clearly Missouri’s elected officials need a reminder that the only way to reduce the number of abortions in Missouri is by getting to the root of the problem by increasing access to birth control, providing teens with medically accurate, comprehensive sex education, and by providing affordable family planning and reproductive healthcare!
